Fusion Umm Ali

Prep. Time: 10 min - Cook Time: 20 min - Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 5 medium sized croissants, bite size pieces

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 3 cups coconut milk (or dairy product)

  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

  • 1 cup vegan mozzarella (or dairy product)

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup slivered pistachios

  • 1/2 slivered almonds

  • 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170ºC / 325ºF.

  2. In a 10 inch cast iron skillet arrange the croissant pieces and bake until they get slightly crispy.

  3. Pour the milk into a the saucepan over the pieces and add the vegan mozzarella, sugar, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.

  5. Add the almonds, raisins and pistachios over the top.

  6. Turn the oven to broil, and broil for 2 minutes to brown the top.

  7. Serve warm.
